Never Check Luggage, Use a Duffle Bag

Airport security is getting obnoxious these days. It used to be fun to travel on an airplane to new destinations but now it feels more like a chore and an invasion of privacy. Terrorism is forcing us to get frisked or walk through X-Ray full body scans that show our nude portraits to strangers while the economy is ravaging airlines and forcing them to charge nickels and dimes for everything from peanuts to large luggage. If you want to save a little bit of money and make your trip as smooth as possible you would be wise to pack just enough in a carry-on.

When you only bring a single carry-on bag with you on an airplane you don’t have to pay the extra fines to check your luggage as long as it will fit in the overhead bin. Most luggage manufacturers have developed specific lines of bags for you to use that will squeeze perfectly into an overhead compartment but those can often get expensive. The cheaper method is to purchase an all-purpose duffle bag to use for your trip.

Duffle bags, like team sports bags, are made of either leather or canvas and, depending on the size you purchase, will be able to fit in most overhead storage bins. Duffle bags and rolling duffle bags are easily carried over the shoulder, held in the hand, or pulled on the ground and are extremely practical. Instead of purchasing a piece of luggage that will sit in your closet waiting for you to go on a trip you can get a duffle bag and use it regularly as a gym bag, sports bag, laundry bag, what have you.

Duffle bags are the perfect travel bags. They have multiple pockets, they look nice, and they are useful in a plethora of circumstances. If you are in need of a single piece of luggage that won’t need to be checked on an airplane you can’t go wrong with purchasing a duffle bag.
