Have you ever thought about traveling to far and distant places? Do you wake up thinking about your next destination? When I get those urges I start to read personal adventure stories, like on a travel blog. I can’t always get away or book enough time off of work so living vicariously through others can sometimes help. I read about people selling all of their possessions and just taking off to see the world. It seemed like a big risk and I was envious of their bravery. The envy turned into desire to do it myself and I got to the point where reading other people’s stories didn’t do it for me anymore. I was tired of the 9 to 5 job I had, my friends were stay-at-home types and I just needed to get away from it all. I decided this is the year to do it! This is the year to travel the world.

A round-the-world trip takes a big commitment and a lot of planning. One of the biggest concerns for me was travel insurance. I had never personally known anyone to travel around the world before so I wasn’t sure where to go. I tried some local travel agents but they were just as unaware as I was. I looked online and came across a World Nomads review. The review said World Nomads was reputable in travel insurance and offered coverage for extended lengths of time. I wasn’t sure how long I would be away but I was able to purchase four months with the option of buying more while I was on the road. As long as I had access to the Internet, I could access my World Nomads account. I was relieved to have such a big concern out of the way so that the rest of my planning could continue.
