How to Find the Perfect Holiday
A lot of people find it really difficult to organise a holiday. It is rated as one of the most stressful experiences of our life believe it or not, and some people end up so stressed out booking their holiday that they barely want to go on holiday once it is all organised!
Personally I don’t think it needs to be as difficult as all that. The best thing anybody can do is to approach their holiday in a methodical manner. When I am thinking of booking my holiday I go through a very exact routine which I find really takes the stress out of booking a holiday. I start off by heading into town to pick up some brochures. At this stage I don’t rule anywhere out – I just get as many as I can. From there I start to look through the brochures and I highlight anywhere that I think looks nice. After that, I go back through the brochure and find out all of the locations that I have liked and I then narrow down the list of places by ruling out anything that is too far away or anything that immediately stands out as being likely to be too expensive.
Once I have a list of places, I do a bit more research on the locations online. I search for restaurants, activities, hotels and air flights to get an idea of whether or not this particular destination can tick all of the right boxes for me. I also don’t like places that are too busy. I like places with a bit of hustle and bustle and I am fascinated by destinations which have a strong cultural heritage, but what I don’t want is a place which is jam packed with tourists. I’ve discovered a good way to ascertain whether or not a place is going to be overrun with people visiting – I visit a website which shows all of the world’s flight mapping which actually gives a great visual impression of where people are travelling.
Once I have gone through this check list I start to search my top destination online. I always look for a three-star resort and I normally go for the cheapest three star resort I find in close proximity to a beach. Once I have more or less decided, I have a final check on a holiday planning site to make sure I have covered everything. If you can do all of this, you will take all of the stress out of booking a holiday!
