It seems that every since Bucharest joined the European Union, that things have been going very well for this Romanian city.  Bucharest has all the advantages of the old and new world.  By new world advantages, I mean that it has plenty of modern conveniences, including but not limited to airports, transportation, accommodations, and technology.  Which is nice, especially for those of us that enjoy the creature comforts of home, even when we travel abroad.  But what really makes it such a great city, is the old world attractions.  Considering, that it’s been around since the mid 1400′s you know there will be plenty of places to visit, and stories to learn.  There is definitely plenty of history to be discovered here.

Architecture has to be one of the best reasons to visit Bucharest from a tourists perspective.  At least for me it would be.  I really enjoy walking around a new city and just taking in all the different buildings.  Specifically the detail that most people seem to miss.  Because Bucharest is so old, and has seen so many different forms of rule, their architecture is very diverse.  Everything from medieval, to efficient communist, to contemporary styling, and everything in between.   I could quite easily spend days wandering around the different sections of this city, taking photographs, and learning the history of all the buildings.

Whatever your reasons for visiting Bucharest, I’m sure they’re good ones.  And, with all the features of this popular city, it easy to understand why so many people visit every year.
