Can You See Where Your Going?
Sure, it’s great to be on the open road. New scenery, new places, a change from the old routine. One of my favorite ways to travel, is a good old fashion road trip. Nothing like getting in the car, and just driving all over the country. Or continent in my situation. Living in North America, as it has to have one of the most expansive collection of roads covering the most amount of diverse territory anywhere in the world. I’ve found though, that at this age, driving can be a real strain on the eyes. Especially as I do more night time driving. I never used to wear my glasses when I drove, but the more I do it the more I seem to rely on them. Especially, when I’m doing night time driving, or driving through rainy weather.
Before starting our latest trip, I made a somewhat shorter trip to my eye doctor, and got some new prescription glasses. It’s nice, because now I find I can go further without having to take so many breaks. While the scenery may be somewhat more stunning with a decent pair of eyeglasses, I really like the safety aspect of it all. When you do a lot of cross country driving, it’s easy to let your mind wander and harder to focus. Knowing that I can see better what’s coming down the road towards me is a good thing.
